---

There isn’t a yacht builder today that doesn’t boast of quality. However, in and of itself, the word has little meaning anymore. To the knowledgeable boater, quality is something you have to experience. It’s the feeling of confidence you get when putting a well-mannered yacht through its paces in seven to eight foot seas. It’s a level of craftsmanship validated by flawless joinery. It’s the overall attention to detail that exemplifies the pride built into every Post Yacht since 1957.

Designed and built with the same quality components and exacting attention to detail as our flagship 56 Convertible, this 42 is just what you've been asking for - a smaller, quality yacht with more efficient diesel power.

Whether your pleasure is chasing billfish far offshore or cruising the Intercoastal, aboard the 42, you'll experience unmatched performance, combined with the ultimate in long-range cruising comfort.

Enter the 42’s salon, and you’ll discover an interior designed for maximum comfort, whether you’re into extended cruising or overnight trips to the offshore canyons.

Upon closer inspection, you’ll discover the many subtleties that set Post Yachts apart. From the superb cabinetry and overall attention to detail, to those less obvious things that serve to define a yacht.

For example, the interior of every Post Yacht is built piece by piece within the hull, as opposed to lowering pre-fabricated modular units into the hull as many high-volume builders do. On the surface, it’s nothing you can see. In reality, it is the one difference that virtually guarantees the kind of solid ride, long-term durability and excellent resale value that Post owners have come to expect.

ABOUT POST YACHTS

The company was founded by Russell Post, who had previously co-founded the original Egg Harbor Yacht Company. He was well-suited for the task, for at the age of 15, he had built his first boat in which he later won an international sailing championship.

Russell always approached boat building with the same energy and enthusiasm. For example, he sold his only car in order to purchase the cedar needed to build the very first Egg Harbor (hull #1). Other operating funds were generated by building and selling small skiffs and sailboats.

The natural inlets of the South Jersey coast, where currents scoured the channels and ocean waves crashed through unchecked, proved to be an ideal testing ground for those early models. Mr. Post made it a point to personally run each boat in order to assure its seaworthiness in all sea conditions.

After the sale of Egg Harbor, Russell enjoyed a short-lived retirement. By 1957 he was back in the boat building business with a new nameplate and company, aptly named Post Marine. With a solid reputation for building quality boats, Russell took the next logical step and opened the current Post facility located on the Great Egg Harbor River in Mays Landing, New Jersey. "Yachts of Quality, Not Quantity Since 1957" was the new company's slogan . . . reflecting a philosophy which has remained management's position today.

With regard to management, Post remains somewhat unique within an industry that often appears to thrive on constant change. In 1975, partners Charlie Walters and Bill Schell purchased the company from Mr. Post. To Charlie and Bill, carrying on the Post tradition amounted to staying the course. In 1957, and at the age of seventeen, Charlie had become Russell Post's second employee.

Over the years, he had seen the pattern for success develop, and had the foresight to take the company to an even higher level with the help of Bill and long-time Vice President Ken Jensen. The conservative management style, that has served the company well through the industry's ups and downs, was a critical part of its success. Unlike many of its counterparts, Post has never tried to build something for everyone. The company has chosen to concentrate its efforts on meeting the high standards of a select number of seasoned boaters. As a result, the crew at Post Marine has been able to maintain a level of quality and value through 54 years of production.

On December 20, 2011 Post Marine Group LLC purchased the assets of Post Marine Co., Inc. Company operations have transitioned from Mays Landing, New Jersey to Chestertown, Maryland.

Post Yachts will continue to be run with the same honesty, passion, and spirit that characterized the stewardships of Russell Post, Charlie Walters, Bill Schell, Ken Jensen and their entire Post team.

BORN TO FISH

Post Yachts have been raising marlin into their wakes for over four decades, so itu2019s no surprise the cockpit is a tournament fishermanu2019s dream. Thereu2019s stowage for fish, gear and tackle, a bait-prep center, cooler, optional freezer, fresh and saltwater washdowns, and a walk-through transom door.

EXPANDED BRIDGE

Topside, the flying bridge is expansive with ample space for a full complement of flush mounted electronics. The optional fiberglass hardtop houses an additional overhead electronics box. Cushioned bench seating to port and in front of the console lets your guests spread out and relax. Beneath each seat, there is abundant stowage for fishing rods and other bulky gear.

ENGINEERED BY EASY MAINTENANCE

Engine room access is from the cockpit, and youu2019ll be hard pressed to find a better machinery space in any boat in her class. Overhead panels are finished in polished gel coat that helps to reflect the dual lighting system. The sole is paved with dry-deck flooring, and the headroom is a generous 4u20196u201d. Plumbing is labeled, wiring is neatly loomed, and all of the machinery is easy to access and service. Postu2019s attention to mechanical details is exhaustive, from the running bearing grounds which eliminate the need for propeller shaft zincs, to the clear-coated bronze through-hull fittings.

TWO-STATEROOM PRIVACY AND COMFORT

The two-stateroom layout places the master cabin forward. The stateroom features a queen-size island berth with more than ample walk-around room. Cabinetry lines the hull sides and a pair of well-lit cedar-lined hanging lockers keep clothes fresh and pressed. Overhead, a Bomar hatch lets in fresh air, while a retractable shade keeps out the morning sun when you want to sleep late. Thereu2019s private access to the head and a full stall shower with a seat. Additional access from the companionway makes it convenient for guests using the port stateroom. An optional washer/dryer installs abaft the head in a dedicated alcove.

AT THE HELM

Gauges are thoughtfully positioned for easy monitoring. There is ample space for flush mounted electronics, while a generous panel in front of the console provides easy access to electrical and mechanical systems. Cushioned bench seats on the flying bridge are 6u2019 long and great for relaxing or stowing gear and/or fishing rods.

TOURNAMENT COCKPIT

The bait prep center features a sink with freshwater and tackle drawers to keep gear and equipment close to the action. The cooler or freezer (optional) built into the starboard bulkhead makes an excellent seat for watching trolling baits.

ENGINE ROOM

Cockpit access makes routine maintenance easy and convenient. Plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems are neatly installed. The well-lit machinery compartment is the best in its class with good headroom and total accessibility around the in-line six-cylinder diesels.
